Oh, what a great story. "Maybe Ray would even get a replacement Kowalski. The irony there would be pretty fucking thick, but it wouldn't be like he'd get a choice in the matter."
That line cracked me up. The rest of the story, though. Oh, my. The bitterness, the fear, the hope. This story said so much by saying so little, which is so impressive. Great job of writing!

Yay, this is so awesome! I love how much Vecchio CARES, and how he just CANNOT say it, but it's so blindingly obvious that Kowalski figures it out anyway. And I LOVE that Vecchio hears Fraser's voice. I'm sure you would, after working with him for so long.

Boy oh boy, this was a gorgeous read. One of those that tug at your heart strings, real gently. Loved your Vecchio, loved Fraser being there at the back of his mind, *loved* the way the Rays come together in the end.

This story is made of *so* *much* *win* I cannot even begin to express it.
Thank you so much! This is just utterly marvelous and perfect! Vecchio! My woobie Vecchio! I love the way he races to Kowalski when he gets the note, and the voice of Fraser in his head, and the way Kowalski has a glass of wine waiting for him. And the way Vecchio edits everything he says in his head and the way he *doesn't want Kowalski to go* and how he can't say that flat out *BUT KOWALSKI HEARS IT ANYWAY*.
This may be the very best present I've received this year. You are *awesome*.
