I really enjoyed the interaction between the two Rays, and things like RayK not getting sleep 'cause RayV isn't there.
Though Fraser really pissed me off with "Ray pulled him into a hug that Fraser backed off from way too quickly." Grrr. Stubborn Mountie.
But I'm happy that the Rays found each other in the end, even if they almost beat the crap out of each other at first. Yay!

"God, you're a slut, Stanley," Vecchio would pant.
"You love it." Ray would wiggle and press a thigh against Vecchio's crotch to emphasize his point.
*Fans self*
I really liked your narrative in this story, the kind of casually crude tone that fits Kowalski and Vecchio so well. Your Kowalski is /hot/ *g*

"a story about how Yukon Cornelius or whoever burned his cabin down by being careless with a lighted cigarette."
hee! Yukon Cornelius. Ah yes, good ol' Cornelius. Did I ever tell you about the time Cornelius found himself trapped in a crevasse with a... I did? Oh. Okay, never mind.
This is a fun story that uses a very cool conceit to weave the backstory into the present. And the voices are excellent. I can really hear Kowalski saying "Yukon Cornelius."
And, in sum: \o/

*hearts* ohhhh this is lovely! Smoking as an analogy for life- this I, uh, dig *g*. I love the way that RayV's reaction depends on what sort of a day it's been, and guuuh, I have a serious kink for the way RayV pushes him up against the wall- I love how you've got RayK's oral fixation there.
Smoking and Stella is really sweet and sad- I love that you've got Ray being so *young* there, young and in love and stupid, and the way that this time he smokes because he has nothing to live for.
Fraser bitching about him smoking (politely) is a lovely parallel to that, and to the RayV approach. And god, the bit about the adventure just about broke me- I absolutely *loved* that you had Ray being there illegaly, because that's not something you often see, and how Fraser's self sufficient up there- he's not going to be lonely, which is \o/, of course, but the way things were left unsaid made me whimper a little bit *g* And the jerky! ohh, Ray!
I liked the fairy tale style ending, too- you've written three people in Ray's life, and how they relate to him and smoking, in this really neat way. Thank you so much! I wish you all the joy of the season *hearts*
