Inexplicably, I love this. I know wingfic gets all the mockery for being so cracky, but due South fandom wingfic seems to be consistently awesome. I love how the wings supplement and represent RayV's emotional journey post-Vegas, and RayK bonding with him over flying, and the delicious hints of triofic possibilities. It's all gravy. No wonder I've read it about five times before commenting. :)

I've re-read this just about a badrillion and a half times and never commented which is just a crime. This is really if not my favorite at least somewhere in my top five favorite fics EVER. It's so powerful and beautiful and hot and THEM and full of intricate little details. Just hearts. An infinity of hearts. You are clearly some kind of wizard at writing. Because I really can't quite explain how perfectly this fic hits me. And when Vecchio finally flies. I can feel that joy between the two of them right down to my bones.

So thank you. Hopefully this wasn't bordering on creepy as far as comments go.

Wow wow wow wow wow. How had I not read this?

So, so beautiful. I love the beginning, how Ray feels the nudge against his back and thinks it's the end of his life--and of course, it IS, both of Armando's and normal!Ray's--perfect.

Just gorgeous throughout. I cannot form coherent compliments.

My god, that was absolutely *stunning* and I feel like finishing it was waking up from a warm, lovely dream. There were so many small things, beautiful moments (like Pa Vecchio looking for something good in a bottle), but this might be my favorite: "Faith starts seeming less like incense and hoarse confessions in wooden boxes, and more like a guy in a plaid shirt with a dorky smile."

The whole thing is just gorgeous, though, and the second love-making scene left me breathless.

I appear to be having trouble forming words. Hang on.

Oh, llassah, this was absolutely stunning. No one can write wingfic the way you can and this was utterly beautiful. Ray learning to fly both metaphorically and literally - it felt like it could be true, I *wanted* it to be true.

A story like this seems to me the perfect match for your writing style, Llassah. It's so gorgeous and graceful it just makes me *ache*, and I love how you used the wings—it's not a kink, it's a metaphor, it's absolutely central to the story, and between that and the beauty of your language, it works entirely from beginning to end. And I love all three of them in this story, but I particularly love how you developed Vecchio and Kowalski and their relationship, the things they see in each other. I love the first time between them, all hot and urgent, but the second time… I think that's probably one of the sexiest things I've ever read. I was having trouble breathing! Beautiful, stunning, I totally worship you.

This is a spectacular story, and I am so very happy it exists and I can reread it in future. <3

Okay, this was, wow, *beautiful*. I can't even isolate a particular moment right now (maybe later, if/when I recover). I'm just overcome with love for this.

This was beautifully tentative -- the title is so apt, not just regarding the wings but also the burgeoning relationship between Ray and Ray. Lovely!

What a cool story! I really enjoyed the exploration of how Vecchio and Kowalski might have gotten along, had they not met while in imminent danger--still with "rough edges" and a certain wariness about their relationship(s) with Fraser, but less adversarial.

And the wings are awesome--the physical presence of them, the decisions they require, Kowalski's intial reaction to them, and the slow build towards flight.

Glorious.

One of the best wingfics I've ever read. The poetry transforms something that could be silly into something exquisite, and it, your language, Fraser's superhuman skillz of integovermental hoojah, and the evocation of Dante (Inferno & Paradiso) are stunning.

*adores beyond description*

Dear You: Thank you so very much for this amazing, beautiful story. I love so many things about it - not the least of which is the grace and love with which it has been written. What a beautiful present! Yours adoringly, m

I love the lyrical quality of the story, especially with the various stages of Ray's exile then gradual return to society (of a sort). The fact that he has Kowalski as his own personal cheering section just adds to the grace of Ray's transformation.

Wow! This is beautiful, beautifully written with a lovely undertone of meaningfulness. Ray being forced to act the devil and then be turned into an angel is such an interesting contrast. I really liked the scene with Fraser and RayK coming into RayV's room - a sort of echo of CotW - and the dialogue is just so great there - well, everywhere.

this story makes me nearly inarticulate with joy. it's absolutely gorgeous in every way. i love to see vecchio dealing with the aftermath of vegas, but OMG, with beautiful WINGS. and fraser and kowalksi! their different ways of caring for him are so wonderful and so true to character. i especially loved the fact that kowalski was the first to really respond with wonder and curiosity about the wings, like a kid, almost. that rings so true to me. i also love the use of the quotes, they were very skillfully chosen and added something interesting to each passage.
