What a really smart character study of Vecchio. The relationship stuff worked (and I'm not a Ray/Ray person ordinarily *g*), but the gennish first half was even better...fantastic insights into his psyche.

Oooh, I loves me some Armando! I like the way the story traces Vecchio with vignettes that help explain his, you know, stuff. While I like long angsty post-CotW stories from K's point of view, where he gets back from the Northwest Areas because Fraser Just Doesn't Love Him That Way and he gets drunk and mopes about it, I also like stuff that's more oblique, like this. Sometimes less is more.
